This is an endoscopic plantar fasciotomy or release. This was performed because the patient exhausted conservative measures. The procedure is performed outpatient at a surgical center. This confirms that the plantar fascia was cut during the procedure. This specific patient also had a herniation of the lateral band of the plantar fascia. When the camera first visualizes the plantar fascia, the intrinsic muscle can be seen as red before we see the central and medial band of the plantar fascia.
