The setup in this one is very similar to the previous jam, I just added the 0-Coast for the bass. Otherwise all the sounds are from the guitar and the Digitakt which provides the drums and the synth (made with a CS-80 one-shot sample). The Octatrack is mainly acting as a looper and add some FX on the guitar, but that’s pretty much it. I barely used the scenes in this one! One cool thing happening is the guitar looping at 1:48 : I set the playback direction to « ping-pong » so when the recording is over at 1:57, what I just recorded gets played backward, then forward, then backward… While I keep overdubbing some stuff on top of it! Pretty crazy and super unique among loopers (as far as I know). It’s a bit messy in the jam but I think it’s a neat way to create those tasty guitar layers that I love so much. Plus the Octatrack filter sounds sweet and gives those loops a very organic texture. For some reasons there is a super dirty noise on the guitar in several parts of the song, I tried to clean it as much as I could but it’s still very ugly. Sorry about thisss. Almost everything was recorded separately then mixed in Logic where I also added some reverb/delay. I mastered the result with Kramer MPX, Izotope Ozone and L3 Ultramaximizer. I did quite a few edits too, my timing was so damn sloppy on this one. Oh well!
