Producing fabric grow bags must start with the fabric. The fabric is called nonwoven fabric, which is usually made by polyester fiber. The basic technique of nonwoven fabric is needle punching. (You can visit our needle punch fabric production plant) The fabric is usually 260gsm-320gsm depending on the size of the bag.Small bags we will use low weight fabric like 260gsm and large bags like 400 gallons, we will use 320gsm fabric. This is to insure the strength of the grow bag, since it is to used to hold soil which is heavy in wieight. After manufacturing the fabric, we go to the cutting stage. Cutting is not a manual process like in the past. Right now we use laser cutting machine to cut the fabric. This will increase the accuracy of each bag. Each 7 gallon grow bag will look exactly the same, accurate height, accurate diameter, etc. We have to cut the side fabric(rectangle) and the bottom fabric(round). The step after cutting is sewing. There is 2 parts of sewing. The first is the sewing of the handles to the side fabric . The second is the sewing side fabric to the bottom fabric.(Have a look at the video) This seems easy but it is for sure takes a lot of work and time to deal with all this. After sewing, we need to fold the bags for packing. Packing is a part decided by our customer. Customers will decide how to pack. However, our standard packing is carton packing. But the most saving space of packing is using a woven bag to pack in sack.(See in the video other packing ways) Thanks for reading all this.
