In a major boost to Hyderabad's urban ecology, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated the rejuvenated Nalla Cheruvu in Kukatpally today, March 9, 2026. Once a victim of massive encroachments, the lake has been expanded from 16 acres back to nearly 30 acres thanks to the efforts of HYDRAA. Speaking at the venue, the CM shared his vision of a "Lake Economy," where restored water bodies like Nalla Cheruvu will feature walking tracks, open gyms, and commercial stalls run by women's self-help groups. He reiterated the government's stance on protecting the city's lakes and Musi River from land grabbers while creating beautiful public spaces for families.
