We’re using the folk method or Simpler’s method. I’m using a 1:1 ratio of ingredients by volume in this video for a very strong tincture. But it’s most common to make a 1:2 mixture of herbs to alcohol by volume. The most important part in tincture making is to make sure the alcohol completely covers the herbs by up to two inches, which will prevent the tincture from molding.
