Lawmakers interview Bill and Hillary Clinton as part of investigation into Jeffrey Epstein

House lawmakers are conducting depositions with former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State and presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, probing their knowledge of the sex trafficking crimes involving Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Mrs. Clinton testified Feb. 26 and Mr. Clinton will be interviewed Feb. 27. The pair is appearing before lawmakers for recorded interviews behind closed doors after months of back-and-forth with the committee, which threatened to hold the Clintons in contempt of Congress. Photos of Mr. Clinton with Epstein and Maxwell were released in the first batch of the Epstein files made public in December. It’s unclear exactly when the photos were taken, but a spokesperson for the former president has said he traveled on Epstein’s plane four times between 2002 and 2003. Mr. Clinton has not been accused of wrongdoing in connection with Epstein and previously said he stopped communicating with him at least a decade before Epstein's arrest in 2019. Mrs. Clinton has not been connected to Epstein, but did know Maxwell and interacted with her at conferences hosted by the Clinton foundation. The Clintons have accused congressional Republicans of using them to distract from Trump’s ties to Epstein.
