After listening to Nigel Farage once again claiming the UK can leave the European Union on WTO terms utilising article 24 of GATT I decided to do a video explaining why he is lying and why that is not possible. I explain what article 24 is, what GATT is and why article 24 relies on two parties converging to create a free trade agreement of customs union, not, as the UK is currently doing, diverging away from a free trade agreement and customs union. I also omitted that in order to utilise article 24 the two parties must have a "plan and schedule" towards an end-state something we patently do not have, as we can't even agree a withdrawal agreement let alone move on to an FTA.
