In today’s Saint Story for Kids, we learn about Saint Peter Nolasco, a brave and generous saint who dedicated his life to freeing people held in slavery. Saint Peter Nolasco lived in the 12th–13th century. Moved by compassion, he used his wealth and courage to rescue Christian captives and founded the Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mercy (Mercedarians) in 1218. Members of this order promised to give everything — even themselves — to bring others back to freedom.
