Costume Designer Eduardo Castro It was in television where Castro seemed to find his groove. He served as designer for two Oprah Winfrey productions, the miniseries The Wedding (1998) and the television film Their Eyes Are Watching God (2005), both starring Oscar winner, Halle Berry. It was his work on Also Starring Pancho Villa as Himself (2003) for director Bruce Beresford, starring Antonio Banderas that gained him his first of five Emmy nominations. This was soon followed by an Emmy nomination and a Costume Designers Guild Award for The CBS Television film Elvis (2005), starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers. The beloved fashion meets family television series Ugly Betty (2006-2008) came next. Castro’s bold, eye-catching, high fashion designs earned him three Costume Designers Guild Awards and two Emmy nominations. Castro wove his costume magic through the television series Pepper Dennis (2006) and Eastwick (2009) before taking on his most creative and rewarding challenge to date, ABC’s Once Upon A Time (2011). The series, filmed in Vancouver, provides an all-new spin on classic fairy tale characters, and their modern day counterparts. In 2012, Once Upon A Time earned Castro another Emmy and Costume Designers Guild Award nomination.
