Fly! is a flight simulator for PC and Apple Macintosh computers developed by Terminal Reality and published by Gathering of Developers. It includes simulation of air traffic control features as well as aircraft's on-board systems, and was acclaimed for its highly detailed fully working interactive cockpits. Featured aircraft were exclusively fixed-wing light to medium aircraft. An enhanced version, Fly! 2K, and add-on, Wilco's 737 for Fly!, were released in 2000. A sequel, Fly! II, was released in 2001. Game Box description: It hasn't been a typical flight from Dallas to New York, not because you were bumped up from coach to first class, but because you're viewing the sky straight from the cockpit. In Fly!, you control your own private jet and must communicate with the tower, monitor instruments, and land without the aid of a flight instructor. Fly!, a general aviation flight simulator, offers three major modes of play: Fly Now, Flight Planner and Multiplayer. The first allows you to fly without planning and is targeted toward novice or inexperienced pilots. Flight Planner mode is for more advanced users and provides customization options like destination points (anywhere across the globe), aircraft (choose and modify), and adjustable weather environments. The third option is Multiplayer for use with flying companions over the Internet or a LAN connection. All modes use a joystick or gamepad to steer the plane, while the keyboard controls the subtleties of flight. The main control panel in the cockpit is viewed through mouse movement and other control panels are accessed by alternative methods, usually keyboard hotkeys. Features include auto-pilot options, viewing maps, changing and customizing camera angles, monitoring landing gear, brakes, flaps, ailerons, propeller pitch, flight planning, navigation, and take off and landings. Now you can pilot your own private plane without going through the rigors of flight school -- take a seat, take the controls, and Fly!
