As we discovered in part 1, dual base ISO totally applies to JPG photos, just like video - but there’s a difference between JPG and RAW… **keep in mind, I did not test dynamic range, so I really don’t know if the second circuit has less than the first or vice-versa. Now, it’s VERY possible this result is camera-specific and the first gain circuit is what offers cleaner results on OTHER cameras - I’m just reporting on the results I got with the cameras I TESTED. Please watch the entire video, as it’s important to understand that color noise does increase as ISO increases, but it’s the luma / pixel noise in the deep shadows and blacks that actually looks way worse on the first gain circuit vs the second. While the second base ISO is where the images seemed to clean up on the A7IV (ISO 400) and A7RV (ISO 320), I did notice for some reason that it was some point BEYOND the “anticipated” 2nd base iso on the A7C that the image began clearing up (ISO 800). 🎥 Link to all of my gear in bio 🎨 Color graded with The Everyday LUT (link in bio) . . . . #sonya7ivtutorial #sonya7iv #dualbaseiso #dualbaseisophotos #photographyhack #sonycamerasettings #cameratipsandtricks #sonycameratutorial #sonyalpha #shotonsony
