Helsinki Etelä-Haaga, August 2024 Music Track: Digital Ghosts by Unicorn Heads (Youtube Studio) Etelä-Haaga, or Södra Haga in Swedish, is a district in the city of Helsinki, Finland. It’s part of the larger Haaga area, which is the 29th district of Helsinki, located in the western part of the city1. As of December 31, 2020, Etelä-Haaga had a population of 12,555 residents and offered 2,154 workplaces. The district covers an area of 2.07 square kilometers1. The history of Etelä-Haaga dates back to the early 20th century when it was part of Huopalahti municipality, which was later incorporated into Helsinki in 1946. The area was originally planned by the renowned architect Eliel Saarinen, although only a small part of his plan was realized. Today, Etelä-Haaga is known for its residential buildings, which are mainly low-rise apartments and houses, giving it a village-like atmosphere. It’s also home to the community association Pro Haaga ry, established in 1962.
