Ohio rapper Rarri is big on authenticity. The Columbus-born rapper, now based in Los Angeles, tells MASS APPEAL that when he moved to L.A. he experienced severe culture shock. Expecting to see more gang activity, Rarri says that due to being in 'the Valley' that instead he was exposed to an undeniable truth: rappers be frontin'. In today's installment of Open Space, Rarri gives us some of his history, revealing that he's been a Crip since he was 13 and that before rapping, he managed DJs in Cincinnati. Now a full-time artist, he's not looking to assimilate with the Valley culture, dressing in shades of blue and casually rapping about gang life in his recent "SupaStar" music video, and bringing his hometown gang 223 along for the ride.
