Mastoidectomy, Tympanoplasty, Myringoplasty, Ear Surgery, Repair of eardrum, Cholesteatoma surgery Ear surgeries are commonly performed for Ear infections, torn eardrum, impaired hearing, ear pain, and persistent ear discharge. They may be performed under Local or General Anaesthesia. There are different approaches to the ear - the surgery may be performed through the ear canal (Permeatal), behind the ear (Post Aural), or from the front of the ear (Endaural). This largely depends on the nature of the disease and the personal preference of the surgeon.
