A video of the Manx Electric Railway during the week of 13-19th March 2022. It features the famous heritage trams passing many of the varied locations along the route between Derby Castle [Douglas] and Ramsey. Rolling stock featured includes Vestibuled Saloons Nos.5, 6 & 7 - built by G.F. Milnes & Co. of Birkenhead in 1894 - Winter Saloons Nos.19 & 21 - also built by G.F. Milnes & Co in 1898 and Toastrack Trailer No.41 - built by English Electric in 1930. This video covers the first few days of the 2022 operating season of the Manx Electric Railway and some scenes reflect the teething troubles associated with putting heritage vehicles back in to service after a winter in storage, such as the arcing of the trolley and wheels of No.7 leaving Ballajora [scene starts at 5m27s] and the hot axle box on No.5 that was witnessed at Dhoon Glen [scene starts at 28m 30s]. The crew and mobile engineers carried out a good on the spot repair and got No.5 under way quickly. Fortunately no serious damage occurred as No.5 continued to work from the next day. Unfortunately I was trying to get to grips with a new tripod, which explains the unfortunate camera angles during some panned shots and the camera strap making an appearance at Ballaglass.
