This build, nicknamed Olive Oil, became a standout project not only because of the truck itself, but also because of the customer journey behind it. Originally, the customer showed interest in a 70s Blazer just ten days before the Bloomsburg Jamboree. While paperwork was being prepared, he changed course and bought a different truck that was essentially stock. Soon after, he saw one of our short-bed Squarebodies—Brown Bear’s “twin”—and quickly decided that was the one he wanted. The paperwork was switched, the money was wired, and the truck went straight into our show booth at Bloomsburg. When he saw it in person, he was thrilled and drove it around that same night, texting us about how much he loved it. By the end of the weekend, he also committed to a Cordova Brown Blazer, taking home two back-to-back Squarebody builds. The story didn’t stop there. While at the show, he asked us to look at his green-and-white truck—Olive Oil. Clean and stock aside from aftermarket wheels, it had great potential. Inspired by another red 2.0 build he saw in our booth, he decided he wanted his truck to receive the full Platinum 2.0 package. That set the stage for this transformation. The 2.0 package included a 12-inch front spring, 8-inch rear with a 3-inch block for stance, and dual Fox shocks front and rear for both contemporary performance and old-school flair. It also received our Davis Off-Road crossover steering and track bar kit, which delivers highway handling so precise you can cruise at 70 mph with just a finger on the wheel. The driveshafts were custom-built to handle the lift, and every piece was fully functional—not just for show. Additional upgrades included ceramic-coated headers, full dual exhaust, and our proprietary “retro” wheels, a slot-style design that’s been selling faster than we can produce. The customer also chose a Bogger tire setup—another nod to that mix of old-school presence with modern reliability. Every part of this truck was carefully assembled by our small team, hands-on, no outsourcing. We emphasized that while custom additions can extend build timelines, we never cut corners or push one customer ahead of another. The result is a truck that looks show-ready but is fully capable off-road if the owner ever chooses to use it that way. Throughout the process, the customer stayed engaged, sending texts and calls, and ultimately becoming more like a friend. He’s a seasoned enthusiast with collections ranging from dirt bikes and motorcycles to hot rods and even a lifted van, so he knew the difference between empty promises and delivered quality. That made it even more rewarding to exceed expectations and finish this truck on time, despite added requests. Now, Olive Oil is complete, tested, aligned, and ready for delivery to its new home in Connecticut. Its unique green-and-white color scheme makes it stand out from our other builds, even though the package itself is proven and popular. This project represents what we love most—great customer relationships, grassroots word-of-mouth growth, and the chance to create builds that combine performance, style, and personality. Like every truck that leaves our shop, Olive Oil passed through our own hands from start to finish, and we’re proud to see it head north as another example of what makes these Squarebody projects so special.
