Growing up in the suburbs of Detroit, he immersed himself in music, learning three instruments and eventually dabbling in hip-hop production. In 2023, he began DJ’ing in Ann Arbor and later expanded to Detroit and Hamtramck. *required produces ghettotech, footwork, and jungle, drawing inspiration from a wide variety of artists and genres. His fast-paced, sometimes abrupt style of mixing evokes a sound reminiscent of the early 2000’s and the advent of digital DJ’ing. *required strives to push boundaries while remaining true to the sound of Detroit and Chicago dance music.
