A Simple Guide to Pushing Film

Pushing film is an important technique to understand in film photography regardless of your skill level. So in this video I wanted to give you a simple guide to pushing film with some real world examples to give you an idea of when to push your film, and the results you can expect when pushing your film. All of the photos were taken on behind the scenes on set of a cinematic short that my friend Juston Case was directing. All of the photos were taken on Portra 800 and were either pushed 1 stop or 2 stops. It was a lot of fun to be able to have the opportunity to work with some friends of mine on a creative project like this and I hope you can walk away from the video feeling confident in your newfound ability to push film in any lighting situation.
