We were initially supposed to round the islands for a few weeks before heading to the Lofoten (Norway), but missed the narrow weather window and ended-up sailing around the archipelago a second time! The wind and the weather ultimately shaped our daily sailing, fishing, and hiking activities in this fascinating world of vertical cliffs, amazing birdlife, sharp currents, turf-covered huts and crashing waves! Although the weather can often be cold and harsh, the Faroe Islands are a wonderful destination very much worth exploring on a sailboat. … Cet été, nous avons mis les voiles sur les îles Féroé à bord de TUPAIA, notre Dufour 35 de 1974. Nous devions initialement faire le tour des îles pendant quelques semaines puis mettre le cap sur les Lofoten (Norvège), mais nous avons raté l’étroite fenêtre météo et avons fini par naviguer une deuxième fois autour de l'archipel ! Le vent et la météo ont façonné nos activités quotidiennes qui se résumaient à de la navigation, de la pêche et des randonnées dans ce monde magique de falaises abruptes, d'oiseaux incroyables, de courants bouillonnants, de cabanes recouvertes de gazon et de vagues déferlantes ! Bien que les conditions météo soient assez rigoureuses et capricieuse, les îles Féroé sont une destination fascinante qui vaut vraiment la peine d'être explorée en voilier.
