Ze vermomt zich als een man om "haren lichtzinnigen echtgenoot beter te kunnen volgen", die met een haar vreemde vrouw (de relatie van een oude vriend van Patouillard) op een terras zit. Patouillard stapt samen met de onbekende vrouw in een auto. De vrouw van Patouillard kan nog net de auto vastgrijpen en ze wordt meegesleurd. Als Patouillard uit de auto stapt, herkent hij zijn vrouw en er ontstaat een wilde achtervolging. "Na eene dusdanige gymnastiek heeft zij den vredeskus wel verdiend, die Patrouillard haar edelmoedig geeft, als teeken van vergiffenis."
