#milcascadastaxco #taxco #lasgranadas #cliffjump Because we are Travelerios, we try to find any excuse to get out and find some adventure. Sometimes all it takes is fun day-trip to get your travel fix. For this adventure we decided to hit Mil Cascadas (Las Granadas). It’s just a 3 hour drive outside of Mexico City in Taxco, located in the Mexican state of Guerrero. Travelerios Cliff Jumping at Mil Cascadas in Taxco Guerrero, Mexico. Experience Entertainment Collective We decided to tag along with the adventure group Experience Entertainment Collective. We did this for a sense of security, going with a larger group, which knows the area, but most importantly to meet other travelers in search of adventure. We are convinced that life is about collecting moments and experiences, not things. Experience Entertainment Collective Experience Entertainment Collective’s mission is aimed at generating sensory, gastronomic, historical and extreme experiences, in various parts of Mexico and even destinations abroad. Mil Cascadas & Pueblo Magico de Taxco We went on the Mil Cascadas trip. It is a great trip that visits the natural beauty of Las Granadas and the series of waterfalls and underground caves. It is also awesome for those who love a little adrenaline, and are daring enough to jump from 3m (10ft) up to 10m (32ft). It is recommended that one be in decent shape. The tour starts at the top of the waterfall source, then you hike down the series of falls and then hike back up. What to bring: Comfortable shoes for hiking (water shoes are a great option) Bathing suit or clothes to get wet in and a change of clothes Backpack or small bag A waterproof bag (ziplock) for cellphones and things you don’t want to get wet. If you have a pair of goggles I recommend to travel light, and bring only your must haves. In my case I also brought my drone (DJI Mavic-air) which is great for traveling and a GoPro Hero & Black, which is what I produced the video with. The Experience Doesn’t End There Travelerios in Taxco From Mil Cascadas, we all load back up in the van and take a short drive to the Pueblo Mágico Taxco. Taxco is famous for its silver, and Spanish colonial architecture. Borda Square is the main square of the town and in it is the emblematic church of Santa Prisca (18th century), a pink building that exhibits an elaborate Churrigueresque style. Experience Entertainment Collective made sure to have a full itinerary. Arriving in the Pueblo Mágico of Taxco we head straight to the downtown. We were pleased by the picturesque town, with uneven cobble-stone streets, lacking side walks. The emblematic church of Santa Prisca (18th century) On our trek to the down-town, we came across these stunning statues of the 3 types of penitentes in Taxco who are seen during processions. The penitentes (repenting sinners) walk through town in black robes with their heads covered with black hoods. The statues are rather eerie portraying pain and suffering. Penitentes de Taxco Penitentes de Taxco Penitentes de Taxco Penitentes de Taxco “LA BERTA” the Traditional Drink of Taxco SINCE 1930 We ended the night at Bar Berta, which has become an icon, of Taxco. We came to try the special cocktail “Berta” which is named after its creator Berta Estrada. The cocktail is made from honey, lemon, white tequila, mineral water and ice and it’s so tasty, it’s hard to have just one! Enjoy cocktail “Berta” at Bar Berta This was a perfect day full of adventure, food & culture, and a good cocktail with new friends. What does the experience include?
