Hello everyone, and welcome to a special Tribute Video to celebrate 50 years of the NSW TrainLink V Set being in service on the NSW Railways. The V Sets were built by Commonwealth Engineering, and the first 4 V Set cars entered service on 22nd June 1970, along the Sydney to Gosfrod route. Today, the NSW TrainLink V Sets operate across the Sydney and NSW Network, which include the Sydney Metropolitan area, South Coast, Central Coast and the Blue Mountains. They have both operated under CityRail and NSW TrainLink. However they will be gradually phased out of service when the new D Sets enter service during 2020.
