17 Jobs with Free Housing | Living for FREE | Live Abroad for Free This is a list of jobs with free housing so that you can live for free, essentially! This list not only includes jobs that pay housing in the United States, but there are a number of jobs on this list that will allow you to live abroad for free. Living for free will reduce your living expense drastically, allowing you to put more money back in your pocket for whatever you need! Below are 17 jobs that pay for housing, and let you live for free domestically, or live for free abroad. 1. Park Ranger - As a park ranger, you get access to tons of great protected outdoor spaces and can take advantage of activities like hiking for free, as well as having housing paid for. 2. Property Manager/Leasing Manager - It’s not uncommon for a property manager or leasing manager to be able to live in that property for a discounted price or even fully free. 3. Diplomat/Foreign Service Worker - opportunity to work for the government and live abroad 4. Peace Corps/Doctors without Borders - Experience varies greatly, with Peace Corps requiring a commitment of time and doesn’t pay very well. 5. Cruise Ship Casino Dealer - Better flexibility and balance than other jobs due to gambling laws. Dealers can only work in international waters, which means while boats are docked, the dealer is off-duty. 6. Resident Advisor- If you’re still in school and looking to reduce your college expenses, most colleges have resident advisor positions where you look after a group of students and manage the hall or suite in exchange for free housing. 7. International Teacher - You can live abroad for free and the certification process to teach abroad usually only takes a few weeks to a few years. 8. Trucking/Trucking Industry - You are on the road so often, you can find short-term housing for between your driving stints, instead of a long-term residence. 9. Seasonal Resort/Hotel Worker - If the Shining didn't scare you off, resort work is a great way to live for free while enjoying the amenities the hotel or resort has to offer when you are not on the clock. 10. Groundskeeper/Butler/ After-Hours Security - These jobs usually want you on-site, so they often have you live for free by paying for housing on-site for you. 11. Consulting - If your clients are in another city or state, you can live cheaply by only paying for a hotel extension or a short-term stay from Friday - Sundays when you are not on the company's dime. 12. Private Chef - Private chefs are different than personal chefs. Private chefs have one singular client that they are responsible for, and often live on-site 13. Nanny/ Au Pair/ Caregiver - You can be a nanny domestically or move internationally to be au pair. This allows you to live abroad for free, essentially, as boarding will be included in your salary package. 14. Travel Specialist Jobs - (think travel nursing, speech pathology, etc.). Stipends for housing, can often exceed what your housing costs are, which means money in your pocket! 15. Touring Shows - theater, bands/concerts, circus - If you’re constantly on tour, you won’t need stable housing. You’ll be roomed in each location on your company’s dime 16. Larger Tech Companies that want you close to work (FB, Google) - or they offer all the facilities you need so your housing can be bare bones if you want 17. Universities/School Systems - University of Chicago (down payment assistance, rent assistance).
