Kahr makes really nice handguns, but they tend to have tight tolerances, and that's why you're supposed to run at least 200 rounds through 'em for break-in. I put a couple hundred rounds through my 2014 CM45 (the economy version of a PM45, and slightly smaller sibling to the CW45), but was still finding it impossible to hand-eject chambered rounds without the help of a screwdriver. I was also still getting a jam every dozen magazines if I didn't hold the gun absolutely tight, and while that's fine for a target pistol, I need more reliability for self-defense if it were (god forbid) to come to that. Anywho... I researched this problem on the "Kahr Talk" forums and learned that some owners fixed their problem by lightly stoning and polishing the inner side of the barrel hood edge. I tried it and it totally fixed my issue, so here's a short video describing what I did in case it's helpful to others. JUST NOTE! I am NOT a gunsmith, and what I did surely voided my warranty, so if I have any issues, I'll need to buy a new barrel from Kahr. That said, if you restrict the work to just the inner main hood edge and stone only a little at a time between testing ejection, you should be able to avoid any negative effects. Finally of course the obligatory legal schmeal: Be sure to use the highest of safety discipline, especially during your testing process, as it does involve live rounds! Perfectly-sized dummy loads would be all the better if you have them. If you have any compunction about light gunsmithing or the testing process, don't do it - send it back to Kahr or have a local 'smith do the work for you. This isn't rocket science, but it's perfectly OK if don't have the aptitude to do this work yourself - at least now you'll have something for Kahr or your gunsmith to go on. Hope you enjoy - have an awesome day!
