Youth Philanthropy Program Summary

Through this program, Seniors from Teton High School’s AP Government class are introduced to philanthropy through a lecture, class exercises, and then by reviewing actual grant applications themselves. Students discuss each project’s potential impact on the community and debate the merits of each application. In their last class, students meet with up to five applicant organizations before determining their final award allotments. Grant Awards are distributed by students to the nonprofits at an Awards Assembly at Teton High School. Applying for a Youth Philanthropy grant is a great way to introduce your organization to local youth and to help young people understand nonprofits in our community and who they serve.
