What Happens When Two Collectors Dig in the Same Box of Toys? Join this channel to get access to perks: / @pixeldantoyhunts Special thanks to Vintage Toys of the Universe for the great deals and tour of his collection. Be sure to check out this incredible toy show here: / vintage.toys.of.the.universe We thought it was just another dig… until Christina spotted the EXACT Polly Pocket from her childhood. We’re in Belgium at the home base of Vintage Toys of the Universe (hosted by our pal Ed), and before we can escape what’s basically a toy museum, he drags out banana boxes loaded with vintage. Cue the chaos: two collectors, one camera, and a race for European exclusives, knockoffs, and legit grails. In this episode we: • Unlock a wave of nostalgia when Christina finds her childhood Polly Pocket — an international variant with different interior colors than the U.S. release. Do we now also hunt the U.S. version for accuracy? 👀 • Dive into TMNT mayhem: Warrior Metalhead Mike, mutant oddities, and bootleg bits that straight-up steal the Battle Cat saddle mold (and somehow make it work). • Get tempted by Euro Transformers (those neon rockets are a tell…), Super Joe Super Trooper with vac-metal armor, and Masters of the Universe print media you never see stateside — including an international He-Man comic/magazine with gorgeous art. • Fall down the glorious bootleg rabbit hole: Defender of the Planets “Dino Beast” (Sparkle) rocking a gold saddle that looks wild on a Big Jim tiger display build. Also: Totally Gang knockoffs with ridiculous head sculpts you can’t forget. • Make the big call on an LJN Thundercats Jaga — complete with helmet, cape, and sword — for €180 (~$210). Considering recent solds, that’s a very friendly Europe-vs-U.S. price. Did I finally add Jaga? Oh yes. And now Bengali just jumped to the top of the list… If you’re anywhere near Belgium/Europe, Vintage Toys of the Universe is a must-visit (we’ll drop their info below). Massive thanks to Ed for being the ultimate host/enabler. Next stop: the Netherlands for more toy stores and more “please don’t tell my wallet” moments. 😅 Chapters 00:00 Cold Open: “Don’t check that other box…” 00:28 We’re in Belgium at Vintage Toys of the Universe 00:58 BINS come out: the race begins 01:27 Christina’s MEMORY UNLOCKED — the exact Polly Pocket 02:09 Why this one’s an international variant (color differences) 03:43 TMNT distractions & bootleg Battle Cat saddle 04:57 Chrome checks, variants, and “where do I point the camera?” 05:37 Vintage odds & ends; favorite IMAGINEXT-style set nostalgia 06:05 Strange variants & parts matching 06:27 Camouflage rock guy and “I’m totally not a person” gag 06:58 Bootleg Transformer AM-radio robot?!
