A group of young boys from Nongstoin, aged 15–25, have built a powerful calisthenics community entirely on their own. They started the sport shortly after the pandemic in 2021–22, training without equipment and learning every move from YouTube tutorials. What began as a small group of friends has now grown into a full Association with 80–90 athletes, including over 40 under the West Khasi Hills Calisthenics Association. Their Instagram videos showcasing their skills went viral, making them a sensation in Meghalaya where calisthenics is rarely seen. Their training is simple but intense , a Bluetooth speaker blasting hype music, chalk on their hands for grip, and pure determination. Today, these self-taught athletes have gained both skill and popularity, and they are now preparing to travel to Goa this week to compete in the national calisthenics event, Genesis Warzone.
