just thought i'd have a little delve into the world of transgender/non-binary culture after watching philosophy tube's latest video - which was quite lovely btw. so if you want to know about how trans people were seen in prehistoric civilisations or some examples of cultures all around the world embracing transgender and non-binary people within their societies then here's a lil summary for you. (of course there were also many many many other cultures and specific trans historical figures e.g emperor elagabalus, but had included everything then this video would be about 10 hours long). anyway, hope you enjoy, cheers x here's some articles/videos on some bits mentioned as well as other excellent videos on trans history: a timeline of british trans history: https://www.lgbthistoryuk.org/wiki/Ti... a look at Muxe culture : http://www.bbc.com/travel/story/20181... an article on the 'Mahu' tradition: http://www.authorsden.com/categories/... a video from the investigation at Hasanlu: • Expedition - "Hasanlu Lovers" a brief history of the Hijra: https://theculturetrip.com/asia/india... a trans history video (by sexplanation): • A Trans History a summary of 'two-spirited people': https://www.lgbtqhealth.ca/community/... instagram: / historyonthebigscreen personal instagram: / yazyvalbel twitter: / yazyvalbel South Of The Border by Audionautix is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/...
