As part of Sian Chay Medical Institution's SG60 celebrations Sian Chay Medical Institution Presents "Close Ur Kopitiam" Charity Movie Screening to Celebrate Singapore's 60th Anniversary of Nationhood 3 November 2025 Monday To celebrate Singapore's 60th Anniversary of Nationhood, Sian Chay Medical Institution specially organised a charity movie screening of Close Ur Kopitiam, inviting 602 seniors from various communities to enjoy this locally flavoured comedy in a joyful and light-hearted atmosphere, experiencing care and warmth from society. The invited seniors came from multiple communities, including Buona Vista CC, Home Nursing Foundation, Jurong Spring CC, One Punggol CC, Siglap CC, Tanjong Pagar-Tiong Bahru CC, Whampoa CC, Xin Yuan, and Yio Chu Kang CC. To date, Sian Chay Medical Institution has invited a total of 6,020 seniors to watch this movie free of charge, and plans to hold about 10 more sessions, benefiting over 10,000 seniors in total. The event was filled with applause and laughter, creating a lively and festive atmosphere. It is worth noting that on 11 August, Mr. Eric Chua, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Social and Family Development and the Ministry of Law, also attended a movie screening session, warmly engaging with seniors and thanking Sian Chay Medical Institution and the wider community for their care and support.
