Gold rush settlers ‘discovered’ the hot springs in 1858 when their boat capsized in the lake and they found a warm patch — in 1885 the area became a resort destination. Join an adventure tour to see bald eagles on the Harrison River, or go fishing for mighty sturgeon or wild salmon. There are also plenty of hiking trails in the area. Search for Sasquatch believed to be roaming in the nearby mountains. In the summer Harrison Lake is popular for swimming, boating, beach volleyball and sun bathing.
