From here, the trek climbs steadily through quiet villages and beautiful rhododendron forests, passing through Num and descending steeply to the Arun River before a tough ascent to Seduwa, the gateway to Makalu–Barun National Park. Continuing upward, you travel through peaceful alpine landscapes to Tashigaon, the last permanent settlement. The trail then becomes steeper and more remote as you cross the Khongma Danda ridge and the famous Shipton La Pass, offering panoramic views. After the high pass, the route descends into the lush Barun valley, following the river upstream through dramatic cliffs and waterfalls until you arrive at the wide meadow of Yangle Kharka, surrounded by towering peaks and serene wilderness. October is the perfect time for this trek—stable weather, clear skies, and beautiful autumn colors along the trail.
