BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay attacked Congress and TMC leader on filing PIL against ED and CBI chief's tenure extension. He said that what's there to question if the tenure of an honest administrator is being extended. Earlier, the central government responded to congress and TMC after they questioned the extension of ED and CBI directors from two years earlier to five years. The congress and TMC had questioned the extension in the Supreme Court. The top court had issued notices to the central government on petitions challenging tenure extension granted to ED director Sanjay Kumar Mishra. The petitions also challenged two ordinances promulgated last November, increasing the tenures CBI and ED directors from two years earlier to five years. The subsequent Parliament session in December had passed the bills to replace the ordinances.
