Trinamool Congress Women’s Wing workers on August 19 staged a unique mass protest on the Manipur issue by wearing traditional Manipuri dress and holding a procession around the city of Siliguri in West Bengal. They held the protest against the BJP government and PM Modi’s silence on the Manipur issue. “We have worn this dress on the road like the Manipuri women to show our solidarity with the Manipuri women who had to face such atrocities. With this procession, we demand our Prime Minister to take steps on the issue, to go to Manipur and solve the riots situation, to remember the face of his mother and to listen to the pleas of the Manipuri women.
