For me, yes it's worth the money, not only so I can use it when the repeaters around where I live are quiet, but also when I travel around the country. My daughter lives near Durham and where she lives, because it's in the stick quite a distance from anywhere I cannot get any repeaters and so I can't get any contacts. So I will take my hotspot when I visit and connect to her internet and be able to chat all over the world. Being able to travel and take the hotspot with me make the investment well worth the money.
