Modernized SÛR Ômicron traction elevator (Car 1 of this pair) at one of the wings of the City Convention & Events Hall, in Downtown. Unlike the ones I filmed previously here, on the theater wing, the pair in this wing serves 2 more stops (M and 2), are overhead and instead of bottom-drive traction, and one of them has not received it's second mod yet. The ones on this bank don't talk and say aloud the time either. Other car in this bank:    • SÛR Ômicron (mod. Alttec) Traction Elevato...   The other pair I filmed before:    • Talking Clock: Big SÛR (m. Alttec) Tractio...   There's one more pair on the North wing that I haven't got to yet, but it's not worth the already high risk as they're exactly like this one. The entire complex has 7 elevators in total, across 3 pairs and and one "special" separated single car (decomissioned for years), all identical SÛR Omicrons from 1994, which all got a partial and premature mod by now defunct local company Módulo Elevators around 2012. Módulo was later bought out by AMG Elevator, itself bought by Orona shortly after. Few years ago, local company Alttec got the contract and has been modding again some of the cars one by one, mainly replacing controllers and some smaller details. This pair is located in the central wing where the offices section is. This is the car that has not received a second mod yet, still on the original controller. It's about to get modded again in a near future like the one besides it, controller replacement and small upgrades on the fixtures. Cab is quite big, as needed for this application, since these are also used for freight. The interior is still original, looks up to date, all steel walls, and a mesh panel ceiling. Lighting is bad, these panels don't help either, make the interior dark with some incidental light only. At least some more bulbs/tubes in the center would help. Loud fan to keep company too, and doesn't move a lot of air inside. There is a remnant of an attendant bench below that banner on the wall near the COP. Fixtures are the only thing that the mod replaced really. Surface-mount totem COPs on the inside, very simple, use ELX 400 buttons, and still keep the original controls (with a decoder for the Infolev indicator). As this car hasn't had it's 2nd mod by Alttec, it still has Módulo's call stations and a few differences on the fixtures. They reused the original indicator, just swapped the old display for the dot-matrix Infolev one. Doesn't look too different from the original really. Now the one on the COP should be for an indicator but they put an LCD clock and temp display instead - many of these companies tried that at the time using these displays from cheap desk clocks, but the feature didn't go on since the failing batteries weren't replaced and nobody cared for it, so... In overall great condition for the age and use, these still look clean and well-kept. Slightly worn in some points at worst. Good care taken with these, one would expect worse for the setting they're in. Performance is quite good, nothing of wrong with it. Starts and stops are quite smooth, leveling is precise and quick, and it's really smooth during the trip, barely any noise while moving. Speed is good for the distance it travels, considering the size and capacity here. Doesn't present any glitches or issues with operation, the Ômicron controller still holds up very well, this was top-range in it's time after all, and a great one at that. Motors are huge on these, but this one is mostly silent (even with the cab fan drowning out the sound), at most it has a growl when starting (presumably DC injection on the motor), and can barely hear it slowing down too, if it wasn't for that fan. Maintenance seems to be good, quite reliable, even with the different usage pattern that these elevators get. Not sure about how it was with the previous companies that have been here. Slap-on mod it got was basic, replaced some really interesting fixtures for generic ones, turned out mid. In overall great condition for their application, age and usage, very well kept and mantained. Performance and operation wise, it's great too, very smooth, fast, efficient, and quiet, no issues at all here.
