Handmade Bakeable Clay with Star Garland Tutorial Recipe 2 Cups Baking Soda 1 cup Cornstarch 1.5 cups water Pour all ingredients into a saucepan. Once incorporated heat on medium heat, stirring constantly. It will take about 4-6 minutes to come together. The texture should be like mashed potatoes. Optional: you can add essential oils at this stage. Either add to entire batch or divide into smaller portions & add to a smaller amount. Roll out on parchment paper or a silicone mat. Approximately a 1/4 inch in thickness is the best size as this will cook quicker. Either cut out by hand or use various cookie cutter shapes to cut out the dough. You may also make beads or other shapes by hand. If you will be stringing these shapes onto some string for a garland or ornament, make sure to add a big enough hole to the top portion of the shape. This needs to be done prior to baking. You can use a skewer or large needle to do this. Either lay shapes on an unlined or lined cookie sheet and bake in a 175 F degree oven. Depending on how thick the shapes are it will take anywhere from 2-5 hours in the oven. It helps if the shapes are slipped every hour or so to bake evenly. To make a garland, use either yarn or string to string shapes and beads onto. To keep shapes in place be sure to place a knot before and after the item to keep it in place, unless you are wanting a moveable garland. Enjoy!!
