How To Enter Shopify Sales into QuickBooks Online

In this video, we will go over a way to enter Shopify Sales (and Payments, Sales Tax Collected, etc.) into QuickBooks Online. The overview of this method is we will be using a Journal Entry Template to enter these Shopify numbers into QuickBooks Online at any interval you want, most commonly once per month in order to capture the Shopify Sales in QBO for the entire prior month. The reason this works is this Journal Entry will use Clearing Holding Accounts to put the Shopify Undeposited Funds into. This is what allows us to enter these sales in any interval we want because no bank account numbers are being affected, which in turn means we are not messing up the Monthly Bank Reconciliation process. This is the method that I personally prefer and use for all of my Shopify / QBO clients as it's hard to beat the flexibility of this entry method. The setup is a little extensive, I hope this video helps clear things up. However, once you have this workflow all set up, entering your Shopify Sales into QuickBooks Online for the entire month can be completed in a matter of minutes.
