Rope braiding machine - 100% my personal design, not existing on any STL store. Braiding machine designed for 8-strands rope (4 x 2 scheme, similar to traditional marine mooring rope). It's able to deal with maximum strand diameter 1.5 mm. I used waxed rope d=0.35 mm for each strand: 4 of red-brown and 4 strands of light-brown color (50/50%) to get current color scheme. Final rope diameter (on video) is about 1.1 mm Parts were NOT printed :) : 1) 2x NEMA17 stepper motors 2) 2 x TMC2208 silent stepper motors drivers 3) Arduino Nano + CNC shield 4) 4 x F625 ZZ ball bearings for winder leading rollers 5) 2 x MR692 ZZ ball bearings for winder motor tension roller 6) 4 x 6808 2RS ball bearing for driving gears 7) 4 mm, 3mm, 2mm steel rods 8) 16 pcs diy brass rollers (2 for each spool) 9) Springs set 10) 2 potentiometers 11) 3 switches 12) screws 3d printer used: Qidi Q1 Pro Filament used: ABS, PLA, PA6-CF (Nylon + Carbon fiber filled), PA6 (Nylon), TPU.
