Tobacco and Timekeeping Collide! FULL SERVICE of the Heuer Autavia Viceroy

This vintage Heuer Autavia Viceroy was sent in by a viewer who has owned it since its purchase in 1978. This watch does have a service history. However, upon return from the shop the watch would no longer run consistently. The chronograph stops the watch within a minute or so, but even with the chronograph disabled, the power reserve of the watch isn’t acceptable. Such symptoms could have any number of root causes, so I’ll give this the full treatment and see if I can’t get this watch running like new again. The 1163V reference, which uses the caliber 12 automatic chronograph movement, was a cross promotional product between Heuer and the cigarette brand Viceroy starting in the early 70s.
