Sky News host Freya Leach questions whether it is fair or “unfair” for people to get fined due to incorrect driving behaviour on AI cameras. “AI cameras are being used to photograph people in their cars to determine whether they are using their phone or wearing their seatbelts incorrectly,” Ms Leach said. “One 85-year-old mother said she briefly pulled her seatbelt away from her to turn around and speak to children who were in the backseat. “The camera caught her at exactly that moment, and she ended up with a $555 fine, and it was double demerit points because it was over the Christmas period. “That is probably one per cent of the cases where there is a genuinely unfair reason you’ve been caught out.”
