Pokemon Violet - Solo Azumarill defeats 7-star Dragapult raid

The last dragon on this long campaign of powerhouses awaits to end the year and generation. Once more, Azumarill the holy diver of Paldea rises to the challenge like any other. This Dragapult boss is a mixed attacker that sets up Dragon Dance a couple times, but Fairies are immune to Dragon Darts and so Intimidate NPCs can pair nicely to debuff Acrobatics and only leave you to worry about its special attacks. Sylveon and Bellibolt are fantastic for lowering damage on the special side as well, and generalist healers like Gardevoir and Arboliva are still great. Still, move slots are more limited in this fight for consistency thanks to Cursed Body necessitating the need to run Tera Blast as a dual STAB to maintain momentum or else wait 3 turns to keep the pressure going while your main offense is disabled. As always, Mud-Slap manages to work as damage mitigation on both sides plus saves real time. In this run, Dudunsparce's Glare puts up paralysis and helps reliability post-shield-break as well. If you're not scared of Cursed Body or can deal with the time loss, you can fit in Amnesia and use Mud-Slap in the meantime I suppose. Azumarill doesn't actually have to faint and preserve cheers here. My gameplan was to use 3 Mud-Slaps, then use heal cheers to get to full as the start of the video leaves off on. I end up taking a hit but dodging the next two as I set up and tera Play Rough to start attacking AND healing. Two Play Roughs ended up barely not breaking the shield, and a Tera Blast after that didn't actually put Dragapult in debuff reset range at 43% HP, so I took that time to set Belly Drum back up safely. Though going for the safe Tera Blasts to finish the job left Dragapult on a sliver of HP in the end, too. I suppose it's better than missing a bunch of Play Roughs though (which happened in some test attempts). We'll see if there are any last raid announcements to come going into the end of the year and towards the next generation, but if not, I'll take this opportunity to say thanks for watching and following along with my Azumarill runs all this time. I appreciate all the support over time, no matter how much or where, and the kind/unkind words about Azumarill and SV raid gameplay have made this accidental niche pursuit worth it to me.
