[DATE ARCHIVED: February 22, 2026] [JUNE 6, 2025] - Flag Day is celebrated on June 14th annually in the country of the United States of America. This ceremony is annually held over at the Owego Elks Lodge (1039) to represent Flag Day as an important national day. The first U.S. flag was designed and made by Betsy Ross on June 14, 1777 with the thirteen red and white stripes and thirteen white stars on the navy blue background of the top corner left. The Star-Spangled Banner has been debuted in 1792 by Francis Scott Key and has became their national anthem for the United States. Francis Bellamy wrote the national poem "Pledge of Allegiance" and was created in 1892. And the current United States flag was first debuted in 1960, designed by a high school student known as Robert G. Heft.
