Learn How to Solve a Rubik's Magic Star Spinner in 3 Easy Steps (Beginner Tutorial)

Having received this great little puzzle for Christmas I made it my mission to learn how to solve it. Whilst it is a very basic form of rubik's cube, it is actually very easy to solve it by mistake. But where is the fun in that! We want to figure out HOW to solve it. Here are my findings, in this tutorial I'll teach you how to solve it yourself in 3 easy steps. By my calculations, from any scrambled state you should be able to solve this puzzle in 12 moves or less. Good luck, let's do this!! 💡 First we need to solve the cross on the pattern side. Face the Rubik's Magic Star Spinner with the pattern side upwards (This pattern is green on my spinner, though some patterns differ. The technique is the same for all). Twist each 'end' of the cube so the middle section shows the pattern. When this has ben done on all sides, you will have a the cross that we need before we proceed. 💡 Once we have the cross solved we need to look at the edges of the cube to see what the colours are looking like. Here you will find one of 2 scenarios: 1) All edges will have 2 colours side-by-side, 1 of colour A, and 2 of colour B. 2) Either 2 or 4 of the edges will have 2 colours, colour A on the outer tiles, and colour B in the middle. I couldn't find any instructions online to solve this puzzle (Some other spinner puzzles twist differently to this one) so I set about figuring it out myself! 💡 If you find scenario 2 (Skip this part if you have reached scenario 1 already), place any of the edges with the single tile in the middle on the far right of the spinner and with your right hand do the following: Twist the right edge half a rotation. Twist the furthest edge half a rotation. Twist the right edge half a rotation. Twist the furthest edge half a rotation. Now look at the edges and you should fins that the edges have now changed to scenario 1 above (All edges will have 2 colours side-by-side, 1 of colour A, and 2 of colour B) 💡 Now that the edges match scenario 1 you need to find the corner where 2 egdes with 2 tiles of the same colour meet. Once you have found this corner, hold the spinner and place the 2 meeting edges closest and left-most as you hold it. Here we will find either on of 2 scenarios: 1)The 2 corners on the right of the spinner will be coloured tiles, or 2) The 2 top corners will be coloured tiles. 💡 To solve scenario 1: Twist the right edge half a rotation. Twist the furthest edge half a rotation. Twist the right edge half a rotation. Twist the furthest edge half a rotation. 💡 To solve scenario 2: Twist the furthest edge half a rotation. Twist the right edge half a rotation. Twist the furthest edge half a rotation.
