LINKS: Jump-ring opener https://amzn.to/33K7teA We're on a beach outing today!! You've been here before, but not like this! Today we tried to visit Mermaid's Tear Cover but it was not to be, so we jumped back in the car and headed out here to Pettycur Bay. We've been here many times - we've enjoyed the view across the River Forth to Scottish Capital, Edinburgh; we've told you about Mary Sommerville, the person for whom the word scientist was created, we've looked at the old glass factory that stood here until the 1980s... today, we climbed down into the old harbour area to see what lies on this, the other side of the Bay. It all started when Nicole decided to rummage and hunt through some of the wee bottles we have been collecting over the last few trips to the bottle tips. Finding these lemonade bottles gave us an idea! Why don't we fill them with tiny treasures - beautiful Mermaids Tears from the cove, out in Burntisland... We set off, only to find the cove was hosting a few hopeful fisherfolks, so we decided to pop along the Fife coast to one of the best beaches in Scotland - Pettycur Bay! When we got there, Craig noticed that the bay on the other side of the harbour was looking inviting. So, we set about clambering down the rocks and across the slippy seaweed to see what treasure lay in wait for us! We were not disappointed - very soon after we got there, Nicole found an amazing glass bottle stopper - a very RARE beach find... Alas, it was the only one we found - BUT, we were amazed to find lots of raw green seaglass! We know that this glass was made from the sands of this very beach, because the old maps show us that the glass factory, that once stood nearby, sourced its sands from pits in this area! Incredible to think that the sand we walk on was used to make the glass we find on its surface today! We scoop up our treasures and see if we can fill all four of the vintage lemonade bottles we've brought along! Check out out etsy store to see all four ready to ship worldwide!
