Sharpening Dull Lawn Mower Blades!! ► Worth It Or Bust? ► 1 Year Update On The Oregon Blade Grinder

I wanted to give you guys a 1 year update on the Oregon Blade grinder and share my techniques on sharpening dull lawn mower blades! A lot of you guys asked me if this Oregon blade grinder has been a great investment, or if it's been a bust. I will admit it took a little getting used to when sharpening lawn mower blades, but compared to the old style for me which was with an angle grinder, the final result is so much better. I feel like the tips are far less rounded with this unit, and the angle of the blade is much more accurate to that 30 degree mark, then I was reaching with the angle grinder. Of course this unit is a small investment (around $300), compared to an angle grinder or similar system ($50), but again, you get what you pay for. Looking back on it, some of you guys asked if I would've sprung for the 1HP vs the 1/3rd HP unit. The answer to that would be: maybe. I think the 1/3'rd HP unit has enough power, but if you have the extra $200 to throw down for the 1HP unit, I'd say go for it. I wanted something somewhere in the middle that was budget friendly, but still offered a pro-like sharpening like my dealer can offer. Again, some grinder's are upwards of a thousand dollars.
