B&LE 901 South at Conneautville, PA. March 14, 2015

On a foggy day in March of 2015, we head out to Conneautville, PA. to catch a southbound Bessemer and Lake Erie train, led by B&LE #901, CN #5336, B&LE #905, and CN #5347. Sadly, we learned after this that very unfortunate change is coming: the last B&LE SD40T-3's (Tunnel Motors) are going to be replaced by Illinois Central SD70's, and the orange shipped out forever...I still remember my very first B&LE train, #'s 900, 906, and 901 heading south through Springboro, PA. I remember the days when there were solid sets of B&LE engines. But then sadly, CN units, and now IC units, have came in, and are finishing off the last original units for the once thriving Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad. At the same time, the actual company name has been non-existent since 2004, when CN bought the property. I will always forever remember the B&LE, and will forever hold a big part in my Railfanning memories...farewell B&LE orange.
