INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 10/27/25 12:36 PM LOCATION: Rancho Ave, South of 10 Freeway AREA/CITY: Colton DETAILS: Date of Incident: 10/27/2025 Time of Incident: 12:36 PM Location of Incident: 100 block of South Rancho Avenue, Colton, CA From: Sergeant Michael Sandoval Victim: Armando Andrez Cayetano, 40-year-old male, resident of San Bernardino, CA Suspect: Lorens Cota, 19-year-old male, resident of Bloomington, CA Case Number: 25-05948 COLTON, CA.— On October 27, 2025, at approximately 12:36 PM, the Colton Police Department Communications Center received reports of a shooting near the intersection of North Rancho Avenue and West Valley Boulevard in the City of Colton. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim, later identified as Armando Andrez Cayetano, suffering from life-threatening injuries. Mr. Andrez Cayetano was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Officers learned that an altercation had occurred between the victim and another motorist, during which the victim sustained fatal injuries. Following the altercation, the suspect fled the scene. The Colton Police Department Detective Division assumed the investigation and through investigative leads identified Lorens Cota, a resident of Bloomington, California, as the suspect. During the evening hours of October 27, 2025, Colton Police Department detectives arrested Mr. Cota, where he was later booked into the West Valley Detention Center on the listed charges and is being held without bail.
