Manchester Metropolitan University has recently completed a 14-month project to decommission a huge legacy network file share and migrate the necessary content into governed Microsoft 365 areas. Information lifecycle management considerations were a key driver for the work, and at all times kept at the heart of the project, which was sponsored by the CISO and run through the IT & Digital Team. This session focuses on the University educated and empowered staff to delete 73% of their content and also on the approach that was taken for implementing a basic level of governance into Microsoft 365. Nicki also discusses the University's next steps for building on this migration and delivering on specific team requirements for automated retention.
