This video is about the rituals of Lord Jagannath Ratha Katha Chirata Anusthan. On the auspicious day of Ram Navami, the three logs of dhaura tree are cut from forest and send to a government Saw mill, Khapuria Saw mill at Cuttack for Ratha Katha Chirata Anusthan. On this day a group of representatives of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration went to Saw mill for Ratha Katha Chirata puja. They carry Aagya Mala from Jagannath Temple, Maha prasad, coconut, agarbatti, diya, flower etc for puja with themselves. A small puja is done before they heads towards Khapuria Saw mill and devotees plays counch, dhol and many other instruments to make their journey auspicious. After reaching Khapuria Saw mill, the priest do the puja of three logs with keeping Aagya Mala on it then he put the mahaprasad on it then do puja with flower, agarbatti, earthen lamp to the three logs as well as Saw machine. After Katha puja, logs are placed in Saw machine, and machine cuts the log. These are the first logs been cut for Ratha Yatra, making of chariots of Lord Balabhadra (Taladhwaja), Devi Subhadra (Darpadalan) and Lord Jagannath (Nandighosh). That's why it's so important celebration prior to Ratha Yatra of Lord Jagannath. In this video you will know all this in an animated form.
