Ryan & Jolee had one of the most fun weddings we have been to in a while, and it was filled with so much LOVE! Their day started at one of our favorite hotels downtown, the El Cortez, followed by the absolute coolest first looks in the most colorful alleyways behind Commonwealth downtown. We are so lucky to get to capture awesome couples like Ryan and Jolee, who want to run around downtown on their big day and get married by Elvis at the Neon Museum. Being wedding videographers in Las Vegas means a lot of epic Vegas elopements, but it's super special when we get to film larger wedding in our favorite spots like the Neon Museum, because first looks with parents, family speeches, and cake cutting are some of those classic and emotional moments we love. When you see Jolee's dad react to seeing her, and his speech, YOU WILL CRY! One of my favorite parts of editing wedding films is being able to tell a story of all the parts of a wedding day. Not every part is super emotional, some parts are so fun and I want to show that, but I also want to make you feel it when someone crys, or gives an amazing speech, so to me sound design is the big factor. Creating a playlist to build the film really makes all the difference. For this film we wanted to start very vintage, and then transition into the more cinematic epic editorial feel of the first look and bridal shots downtown. I used a very hip funky song, some establishing vegas shots, and then Jolee's bridesmaid speech to tell the story. From there we transitioned into the ceremony, using Travis Allen (the Elvis officiants) real audio and singing voice as he sung Jolee down the isle. Their vows were so emotional I wanted a more romantic song that really helped guide the feel of their vows to make you really feel it more. Then for the reception, we wanted to give it that home video feel, as if one of their friends was shooting it on film, so we picked a song that really went with the vibes and used color grading to really drive home the point of the vintage home video style. I also love choosing specific fonts that I feel fit the couple and their style. For Ryan and Jolee, it was all about Viva Las Vegas, and really going wild with the design and colors!
